My son is autistic and very sound sensitive. They let us come in twice just to sit in the chair and look at the suction before anything happened. That is the only reason the actual appointment was possible.

A new patient examination costs £55 and takes about half an hour. Nothing is drilled, extracted or sold to you at that appointment. You leave with a written plan and a total, and you decide what happens next.
We email a medical history form the day you register. Filling it in at home saves five minutes and means you are not trying to remember your prescriptions in a waiting room.
Come about five minutes early. Sian will check you in, take your details and show you where everything is. There is water, tea and coffee, and a loo on the ground floor.
The first few minutes happen sitting up, with the chair upright. We ask what has brought you in, what you have had done before, and whether anything about dentists bothers you.
Teeth, existing fillings, gums and gum pocket measurements, the soft tissues of your mouth and throat, and how your bite meets. We take photographs so you can see what we are describing.
We take them when there is a clinical reason: checking between teeth, looking at a root, or planning something bigger. If you had them recently elsewhere we will ask for those instead.
We go through what we found, what needs doing now, what can wait and what is simply worth watching. You get it in writing by email, itemised, usually the same afternoon.
You do not need to bring a referral. Anyone can register here.
If you are in pain now, do not wait for a registration to be processed. Ring us. We keep slots free each morning for people who need seeing that day, and we would rather use them.
The full fee list is published, so you can work out roughly what anything will cost before you come in.
Roughly one in ten adults in the UK avoids dental care because of fear, and for a lot of people it traces back to one bad experience, often as a child. You do not have to explain it or justify it to us. Tell us it applies to you and we will work differently.
What we will not do is promise you that nothing will ever hurt. Local anaesthetic works very well and most treatment is genuinely comfortable, but that is a different claim from painless, and you deserve the accurate one.
This takes about four minutes. It does not book an appointment on its own: Sian will ring you back within one working day with two or three times to choose from. Nothing is charged until you attend.
Sian will ring you back within one working day with a couple of appointment times. If you need seeing sooner than that, please phone 0113 496 0182 and say you are in pain.
Have a look at the rooms first, or read what other people asked before they booked. Neither of those commits you to anything.
